Hey everybody!
Sorry I didn't do any updates for my week of spring break, it was kind of a repetitive week of going to help out at Kelly's and then hanging out at home for the most part, and by the time that I got back on Sunday I was pretty wiped out. I will say it was fun to visit my English teacher and the new Compass campus, so that was awesome! And I got to see Dani before she left for her mission, even if it was only for a little bit. I also got to try Mom and Dad's new popcorn and get home made meals, but I figured everyone was tired of me talking about food from last year so yeah...
Anyways, onto this mess of a week.
Monday was normal, which was honestly a big relief. I had Herpetology where we were talking about the evolutionary history of amniotes and the like. He actually talked about my research paper subject about turtles for a while (and later addressed the three main theories that I discussed in said paper on Wednesday) which was awesome. I had BioChem as well, which was normal like usual. We're talking about the TKA cycle and Glucogenesis which is not really my area of expertise so I'm having a bit more difficulty with the material. After this I ended up getting roped into watching the Bachelor finale (Part 1) with my roommates and let me tell you, it was so cringey.
Tuesday I got the first of Dani's emails which was rather short and my response was kind of awkward. I've never written a missionary before so it was a new experience all around. I also got my acceptance letter to Grad School!!!!! That was the biggest highlight of the day and it was an amazing feelings. Sadly this didn't carry over into Epi since there was a butt-face at our table who kicked Rafael out of it by being a jerk. I don't like him much. And not just because of the Rafael thing. After that I went home and made the new popcorn with what we had on hand and settled down for the other rousing Finale of the Bachelor which just ended up with me internally asking, "Seriously?" the entire time. People are weird. That show is weird. No one is genuine and it is weird.
Wednesday was pretty great. We talked more about the turtles that day (which always makes me happy). Dr. Savitzky also mentioned what was going on with coronavirus and that school might be changing things which put me a little on edge. I went out to lunch with Maren and got some good food to celebrate my Grad School acceptance XD. Then after that, I had BioChem (the usual there as well) and then our snake lab. I had to babysit the one guy in my class who was a nightmare. I had to explain how he could tell what snakes were rattlesnakes. Rattlesnakes. That's not even including the rubber boa and cottonmouth that he couldn't figure out. I was very much done with him when I was able to escape and head back to the dorm. My night got better from there. Maren had me watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, which was actually really great. I really enjoyed that. It was really sad, but good. I also accidentally pronounced uterus as "ooterus" and thus Karen made a new TicTock. It was a good way to end the day.
Thursday was hard. I woke up coughing. I had been stuffy and had a sore throat all week, so I sort of knew it was coming but still... I didn't go to classes. Maren kept me updated and I found out that school was going to be going online the hour before my test started. That was stressful... which in turn made me not do super great on my test. I got a C on it, so that's okay. I still have a B in the class so I'm fine. However, it was a sign that I wasn't going to be having a great next few days.
Friday had classes cancelled. I worked on some homework and just tried to handle the shift in schedule. I got a fair amount done before Maren and I decided to go and walk around town to try and burn off some nervous energy. It ended up being really nice. We ate at Stacked! which was great. Saturday was much the same save for me joining Brian's family at Maddox and Peach City to honor Gma K. I got back from that and spent some time drawing and kind of just being quiet. Saturday night was brutal and ended with a meltdown and the start of a migraine that kicked in around 3:00 am in the morning and led me to being in tears and a pretty rough start to my Sunday. We had fake sacrament meeting with Come Follow Me and the elders coming to give us the sacrament. It was pretty chill. We've spent the rest of the day talking things out and dealing with things as they come. Right now we're watching Frozen 2 for the second time this week (we watched it on Thursday).
So yeah...
That's all for now folks!
