Hello everyone!
It’s been a pretty chill and busy week this week. I know
that’s an oxymoron, but still, the best describer I have. So let’s get started,
shall we?
Monday: Meetings went alright, I didn’t even get booted in
my GTA meeting that day, which was nice. I even got my Neuroendo homework done
and my EvoDevo assignments weren’t even that hard, and were almost interesting this
week. I also decided that day that I was going to teach Lab from home which was…
rough. My internet was definitely not up for holding class at home, and it was
a little stressful, but it was worth it not to have to walk home, because…. Duhduhduhdah!
It was my birthday on Monday. Maren and Emily made gluten free pizza with my
choice of toppings for all three mini pizzas. We watched Detective Conan’s hour
and a half special, had strawberry rhubarb crisp, and I even got a gift from Allie
of candy and a perfectly squishy pillow.
Tuesday: The lab that morning went a lot better, and I was even
able to make sure the recording was working. I didn’t have much after then,
until Neuroendo. This week we’re learning about parental behavior. It was
rather funny how easily I was able to pay attention once we stopped talking
about female and male reproductive neuroscience. I really just don’t seem to
care about it, which made the last couple of weeks hard to pay attention to. I
didn’t have anything after that, since the seminar this week was about bee
pollination and I’m not interested in making myself miserable. So instead, I worked
with students to try and help them with their assignment for this week.
Wednesday: This was the roughest day of the week. I had five
separate meetings with students on zoom, and I helped even more through email. I
then had to read my papers for both EvoDevo (which I was a little lost on, but
we did a kahoot in class and I won that, which was awesome) as well as the
Freeman meeting. I also worked on my GAD paper, which took a very long time, and
it’s outline was due this week, which meant it was crunch time. To top it all
off, I was lethargic and nauseous for most of the day. So yeah, Wednesday was
rough and busy.
Thursday: Thursday was surprisingly uneventful. I had a
lesson about library resources for Intro to Grad Studies, talked more about
hormones in Neuroendo, and just dealt with students for most of the day. I turned
in my GAD outline, and talked about a commentary article about Addiction and
Love, in relation to last week’s article for the Freeman meeting. So yeah… normally
Thursday. Though I was able to play Minecraft for a while to work on the
Halloween build for the server. And Maren and I were writing for a while, since
we’re working on four different documents right now. Hopefully I’ll have time
to work on my fanfiction soon, since I still need to dig into that.
Friday: Friday was really busy in the morning, with all my
TA work. I had to grade papers, send out announcements, do final checks on the
canvas pages, and then work ahead into Week 8 and make a rudimentary lesson
plan. Next week is going to be rough in lab, and very busy. I still have some
work to do on Monday, but still, it’s going to be busy. After that though, my
brain more or less gave out and I just binged Dr. STONE with Maren for the
afternoon.
Saturday: Today was decently busy. I worked on my Neuroendo
Homework for a couple of hours, wrote with Maren, helped make rice for dinner,
did laundry. And now I’m writing my blog while watching Maren and Emily play BoTW.
I ordered Crumbl and we’ve been slowly snacking on it this evening.
So yeah, this week’s been both busy and chill. I think the
only other news is that I’ve been hardcore obsessing over Star Wars and Maren’s
probably going crazy with some of my binges on the lore. Don’t know what set it
off, but it’s been pretty awesome. Anyways, talk to guys you next week.
