Hello everyone! I don’t really know what to put here for my introduction paragraph so I’m just gonna rush in head-first because that’s so original. This week was all sorts of wacked for me, so be prepared for some discombobulation.
Monday was probably the chilliest day of the week this time
around. I played on Minecraft that morning (the origin server I believe I
mentioned last week) which was a lot of fun. I also got to get a good chunk of
writing done with both Maren and on my HP fanfiction. I still haven’t lost my over-a-year-now-long
writing every day streak and I’m proud of it! Sam also came over which was “meh”
but I’m used to him by now so it wasn’t a big deal. He even stayed for dinner
this time around when I made tikka masala using the new spice packets Mom was
able to send me. He eventually left to go and do something (I think he had a
test to take that day or maybe a presidency meeting? I don’t know), so Maren,
Emily and I sat down to watch Sunday’s stream of the Tales of the SMP. It was…
alright? Like I was laughing a lot when the jokes were actually funny, but
Quackity was in there this time and he has a bit of a dirty sense of humor
which sucks. But there were a lot of cannibalism jokes, and hopefully some
clues for what’s going on in Karl’s library, so I guess we’ll have to see. I
also got to watch Techno and Ranboo’s stream from that Sunday, which was
awesome—so much Egg lore.
Anyways, before I get lost in the Dream SMP rabbit hole, let’s
talk about Tuesday. Tuesday… was definitely a Tuesday. I could not focus on
anything at all, which sucked when I went to class. All we talked about were
blots (save for the end when we started talking about PCR). You would not
believe how long a teacher can talk about blots. The lecture was an hour and
fifteen minutes, at least an hour was on blots, I kid you not. Thankfully, though, going to class seemed to
kick me into a productive mood (and the fact that Sam was over so I went into
my room to work on things while he and Maren were being mushy). Eventually Sam left and Emily found a cool Minecraft
adventure map of some sorts called Diversity v3… which I kind of almost rage
quit after a couple of hours of really hard parkour. I was in tears and
frustrated, and then had a stupid meltdown on top of it (I think maybe it was
because my schedule for this week was so strange that it was throwing me for a
loop? Or maybe the busy weekend with so many people?). This of course led to a
migraine, which sucked. But once the meds kicked in, I grabbed myself some
toast and chicken strips and sat down with Maren to watch some Detective Conan,
which helped. We never got to finish the second-part (it was a part 1 and 2
episode) episode however, since that was when my computer decided it hated me
even more than usual and forgot how to internet. It took forever, and a lot of
prayers, for Dad and Mom to walk me through repairs, but it started working at
like 10:40 that night, which sucked. Yep. Definitely a Tuesday.
Wednesday was a lot more chill, but still a touch
frustrating. I did all the homework that day even with my brain going “nope, I
don’t want to think”. This led to some small things working me up, like a video
for lab not playing on Canvas, doing the dishes, etc. However, There were a lot
of good things that happened. I did get a lot of my to do list done (not all,
but most) which made me feel significantly less anxious. I also got to
eat out for dinner with Meg and Formosa’s, which was great. I really liked the
food that I got, and the conversation was great too. When I got back, I started
Diversity v3 again, this time with Sam on our team as well, and we got a lot
more of the branches done, though I stopped before the PVE tournament thing,
because I knew it was going to be frustrating. So, instead, I hung out with
Karin, who’d popped over to hang out while Tim was taking a test and we talked choir
stuff and shared songs, which was great. A little too great, actually. I got so
worked up (in a good way) that I didn’t fall asleep until 2:00… Oops.
Thursday was another more rough day. I prepped for Lab and
watched my Nutrient Gene lecture about omega-3 and omega-6 case studies—not my
cup of tea, really, even if the stuff is cool to learn. I also filled up my
time before lab with reading old Bloodheart stuff because I wanted to relax and
chill. However, I had to go to lab eventually and… I ‘struggled’ with my group.
I was one of the only ones that came to lab prepared, and knowing what was
going on, which was frustrating. The boys I was working with got on my nerves
multiple time and it was like herding cats! They kept on socializing and trying
to say I was wrong—though I was clearly right and the TA agreed with me—because
they didn’t realize we were combining two procedures this week. GAH!!!! I was
ready to wring necks by the time lab was done, but I played it cool and I think
they’re still pretty sure that I like them (which is less true than I want to
admit). So after that, I was pretty much done with people for the day. Sam
showed up, again, and he and Maren did a video games in the living room kind of
date and I just went into my room after making dinner and just chilled until
bedtime.
Friday was pretty chill as well. I once again (story of my
life this week apparently) struggled to stay on task, but I did get my nutrient
gene interactions lecture for Friday done. We were told that we have a test
next week which is okay, I guess, but I don’t think it will be too hard
considering the last one. I also was able to sit down and force myself to focus
for a little over an hour just reading scientific articles for graduate
research purposes and found a fair amount of cool, new information. I think I’m
getting a better picture of what we’ll be staining for once we get there for my
pilot study and stuff—which is cool. After that, I gave myself a small break to
watch Ben’s stream, which was just him building with the 1.17 snapshot on a
creative world. He was building a really cool wizard tower, which was sweet. I
even got some work done while watching, copying down my notes from the lab into
my notebook since we turned them in for a day so I didn’t have it all written
prior to this week’s lab. Once that was done, I spent most of the rest of the
day just reading. I’ve been brainstorming some ideas for Minecraft as well, but
who knows when I’ll get started on my latest project—probably not for a while
all things considered. Maren, Emily and I also finished playing through the
rest of the Diversity v3 map as well, which was actually a lot of fun. I liked
the elytra branch a lot.
Now there is today, Saturday. I haven’t done much today so
far, but laundry and grocery shopping are on the list for things that need to
get done. So, I think I’ll leave us here. That was my week, and next week
things will be crazy again, but oh well. Until next time!
