Hello everyone, this week has been all over the place, but most importantly, it is over! Let’s get started yeah?
Monday was actually kind of exhausting (like this entire
week). We had our last TA meeting and my last set of office hours which was
nice. After that I basically only worked on my paper for my nutrition class for
a while. I had a good chunk of it done from the weekend, but I still had to put
it all together into one cohesive paper, which was a feat in itself. It didn’t
help that I was exhausted for that entire day since I was running on four hours
of sleep, which made me not have the greatest time putting pieces together. I
also worked a little bit more for preparing for lab, as well as the lab meeting
reading, and later the lab meeting itself. It was our last one for the year,
the next one being a party for the graduating undergrads in the lab next week. But
yeah. Not much happened that day.
Tuesday was a little less tiring but definitely busy. I
actually got enough rest that morning before heading off for immunohistochemistry.
This week Lexi was helping me so she can help me if needed while Sara is busy
this summer. It was a lot of fun, and it seems like the sucrose did a good job
of holding everything together. I had to hurry from IHC to my animal molecular
biology class though, since I only had 15 minutes between the two. This week we
were doing lab on both days since we have a time-sensitive experiment this week
due to it involving E. coli growth. After that was done (which was easy
with Caroline, Lauren, and I working together), I had teaching which was a
doozy. This week was test review which took the full two hours and I honestly
just hope the students do well on their final and that we were some help at least.
Well, anyways, when I returned home something strange happened. I was heating
up some food for myself when the plate I was heating it up on just… broke.
Like, it was in the microwave and it cracked in half. I have no idea how I did
that, but it seems I’m becoming Alcatraz and I have his talent which is
alarming since I wasn’t even touching it… I now only have one plate, but it’s
okay. Just very confusing.
Wednesday was a whole lot of just doing random stuff. The
IHC stuff that day had a lot of waiting periods, so I had time to go and eat at
the library café, and of course have my committee meeting, which went well. I
had some suggested classes and ideas for research. Susannah and Korry are
really awesome, and I’m excited to be working with them. By the time IHC was
done, I had half an hour before meeting up for dinner with Meagan. We went out
to El Toro Viejo, which was surprisingly decent, and I definitely enjoyed the
time there. However, I was very much tired with people by the time I came home
and just chilled on Minecraft for the rest of the night.
Thursday was a bit of a nightmare. I very much woke up nonverbal
and didn’t even start talking by the time I got to work which was stressful. It
was like I couldn’t even get words out which was frustrating since we still had
our last day of IHC to do. And then I found out that our animal molecular
biology lab was a bust because the company was stupid and a resource we needed
to finish up wouldn’t be coming in time, so we have to do another lab next
Tuesday which is stupid and really frustrating. So instead, we had our lecture
then about doing protein gels in two dimensions. After that, it kind of just
spiralled from there with a bunch of emails and other frustrations until I was
panicking and I called Mom to help calm me down. Half an hour later and I was
eating a snickers, taking a break, and signing up for a vaccine for Friday.
Yeah. It sucked. A lot. And I still had to teach that night, though I was very
much out of it and as soon as I was home I just crashed hard.
Friday was much more chill. I woke up and did a few pieces
of homework before heading off to get my vaccine. Meagan was nice enough to
come and help a sister out and come with me since I have a thing about needles,
but everything went fine. My arm hurt a little, but I was expecting that. So,
after that, I came home, ate the last brownie as a reward before settling in for
Minecraft Manhunt with 5 hunters since it aired live pretty soon after that.
Dream lost, but it was really close, and I’m not sure if what the hunters did
counts??? It was really confusing. After that, it was just buying more time before
Ranboo’s lore stream which was a real doozy. I can’t wait for Episode 2, I have
so many theories! While we were watching the lore stream, pizza came too, which
was awesome. We spent the rest of the night chilling around, and I even got
some Harry Potter writing done.
That kind of just leaves today, Saturday. I’m definitely feeling
the effects of the vaccine—low grade fever and general fatigue. So far I’ve
been able to go out shopping with Maren, cook some dinner (just the rice is
left now and we’re waiting on it), and watch some streams. Overall, not much,
but I’m really not feeling up to much at the moment.
So that was my week, guys. Tune in next week for some dead
week/finals madness.
