Hey Everybody!
So, I haven't wrote on this in a while... so forgive me if I'm all over the place. Today was kind of slow compared to my weekend. I woke up at a good time, ate some cereal, and hurried off to class. Okay, well maybe not that much of a hurry, I was able to write down an idea that I had and continue to brainstorm on my way to class.
Statistics was boring, as seems to be usual, and I had a fun time doodling at the time during class while there was a lull in taking notes. I was able to figure stuff out before the teacher walked through it and so I had a little bit of extra time. This continued for the full hour and a half and it made for a long class.
I then headed back to the dorm where I was able to work ahead on some Ecology reading before going to eat lunch. And oh my gosh! They basically have all the best things from thanksgiving all in a small wrap. There was even small chunks of what tasted like stuffing and potatoes in it. It was soooo good. I'm really happy that I tried something new today. After getting food, I headed straight to institute, as I had brought my bag with me to lunch.
My teacher is still awesome, as usual, and he talked about Hebrew linguistics and how it is tied to math and I was super interested, but he stopped soon after since most of the class wasn't interested. I may ask him about it later, because it sounded really cool. We took a lot of notes today in class, so that was also nice as I wasn't just sitting, listening, and reading, but also doing something to notate what he was saying. I don't know why, but it helped.
I only had half an hour between institute and my next class, so I just sat near the classroom and worked on ASL like I usually do before that class. It was nice to get back into the routine. I did finally figure out how to edit the pdf form of the lecture with my computer though, so now I can actually notate stuff in class without having to waste paper in my notebook that will probably be used for Chemistry. I'm pretty happy about that. Besides that, there wasn't much to talk about in Ecology. We learned about climate and how the earth's rotation and water cycle affects it, so not really interesting, except when they were talking about underwater biomes. I hope they talk more about that stuff, because it seems to be the only thing not super boring about the class.
As that was my last class of the day, I headed back to the dorms and kind of wrote for a while. I got through a pretty bad writer's block over the weekend but didn't have time to write anything really down, so I used a good chunk of time to work on that. It would have been even better if our dorm didn't have the fire drill today. The things are so loud, I felt like my ears were bleeding! And we have to run all the way down and up the stairs as they deactivated the elevators during the time. It sucked a lot. After that I had about an hour before meeting up with my friends to eat.
I will say that I didn't really enjoy dinner today. I had the usual food, but the people I was with (who I will keep unnamed for reasons) were talking about things I really didn't think were appropriate. To keep it vague and at least PG13, I now know a lot more about a random person's sex life than I ever wanted. It was really hard to be around them and I eventually lied and said I had homework when it was becoming clear that my attempts to stop the conversation were going unheard. So yeah... kind of a big bummer there. I watched a little bit of anime after that, not wanting to focus on it, though it didn't really help.
I was also able to call Phoebe after getting ready for the next day, and we were able to fan girl together in a way that really helped my mood. I feel a lot better than I did a few hours ago at dinner. I'm probably going to write some more before going to bed after I am able to talk with Mom and Dad, but yeah.
Business as usual I guess.
