I'm really bad about posting stuff when I'm with family/over weekends. So sorry, not sorry for that. I have a lot of stuff to report, so I will once again be using my favorite version of writing events: BULLET POINTS!!!!!!!
- Thursday:
- After a long, grueling day of classes, I was picked up by Janet. I got to watch her try and figure out where she was going. I could see her from my window and she went the long way around. It was kind of funny, because she also didn't know there was an elevator that goes to the upstairs floor, and she walked up all the stairs. I know it's evil, but I thought it was funny.
- I had hamburgers that night, and boy was it good! I still like my mom's burgers more (no offense Gordon, but Mom's cooking is the bomb!), but they were really really good.
- I even tried asparagus that night, since Gordon made it with some bacon. It tasted kind of like the brussel sprouts that Mom makes but stringier. I still liked it regardless- but hey! That means I tried a new thing. Yippee for me!!!!
- Janet and I did some hair experiments that night too, before my hair cut. We looked at a lot of pictures on pinterest of hairdos I would like, so I knew what I was getting into.
- Friday:
- I did laundry in the first part of the day, and had a really good green smoothie for breakfast. While waiting for the appointment, I also watched an episode of Troll Hunters, it was okay, not my favorite.
- We then went for my hair cut appointment, and it was so cool! The lady who helped us was a little awkward, so there wasn't all the chatter that you normally get at a hair appointment, which was fine by me. I'll put a picture of my hairdo below for those who didn't get to see it on Instagram:
- I had to do a link for it, because I'm not great with technology, sorry: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2oGDuzES34MPAVi99
- After that, we had Chick-fil-a for lunch, which was also really good. We then went to Target (to buy hair accessories to keep my hair out of my face in lab) and grocery shopping (for dinner that night which was White Chicken Chili. Super good) before heading back to the house.
- We then made some ribbon cookies, so occupy ourselves, and while we waited for them to chill for two hours, we watched some Nailed It. That was really fun, Janet really likes the host to that show. I think it's because they have the same personality.
- After that, dinner happened, which was, of course, good, and Gordon came home and put on some Agents of SHIELD. Technically, I've only watched the first season, but he is on something like season five, so I was a little lost, but it was fun to watch something involving Marvel.
- I went to bed though, since I kind of got a headache towards the end of the day. It prevented me from sleeping well at first, but got better over time.
- Saturday:
- So on Saturday, we didn't really have many plans so we kind of played it by ear. I had some eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast for breakfast (YUMM!) and we decided to make plans to eat with Grandma K (who just got back in town) at lunch time, before spending a little bit of time having fun in shopping stores.
- Meagan joined us on our shopping experience, and Janet ended up buying two shirts at Old Navy. It was fun to hear their commentary.
- With Grandma K, we were joined by Brian and Liz at lunch. They liked my hair, and we had a fun time, even with Grandma K making comments about me not eating all of the sourdough bread bowl. Those things were huge! Meagan got one too, and she had help from Brian getting it into just a little slice. Grandma was funny, because she made the comment that I shouldn't have ordered it if I wasn't going to eat it. Oh, Grandma! She's silly, so we gave her the rest of the bread bowl to finish on another day.
- Jace was coming to be babysat that night, so Janet and I picked up some Papa Murphy's on the way home from Nordstrom Rack, and used that as dinner. We even got desert pizza and cheesy bread.
- Gordon was watching a cop show when we came home, but most of the characters were pretty mean to each other, so I'm not sure if I like it or not. It's called Closer if anyone is interested.
- I kind of hung out in the room throughout the night, reading my institute readings for the week, taking my Organic Chemistry quiz, and reading some of the Book of Mormon to do President Nelson's challenge. I came out to eat and socialize for a bit, before inevitably heading back into my room. I got my rough drafts for my Inktober done then, but I still need to color them with ink now. I'll probably do that tonight when Maren get's back. It's a lot of fun to draw with her.
- Sunday:
- A lazy day to day. It's been nice. I got up, ate some breakfast (orange rolls), and kind of lounged for a while while Gordon watched television and Janet did her make up.
- Around 12:30, Janet took me out to eat at Carl's Jrs. and suggested that I try a new dish at Cafe Rio the next time I'm there, so I'm making a note of it now. We then headed off around 1:00 to drop me back off at campus.
- When I got back and said goodbye, I kind of just put stuff away, read some conference talks to make the sabbath more of a sabbath, and drew for a while. I had dinner with Katie once she was done with her meeting, since everyone else is basically out of town or working. I had a little bit of everything at the Junction: lo mein, egg rolls, schnitzel, and roasted potatoes.
- Now, I'm back here. I'm planning on drawing with Maren tonight to kind of get back into the swing of things. I decided to do this early since I had so much to write.
I kind of don't have much to say. That's more or less a long report of what I did this weekend. Woah, looking back, that's a lot longer than I was anticipating. Oh well. Talk to you all later!
