Hello everyone!
I know it's been over a week since my last post, but I have reasons. So I kid you not, the day after that blog post 3 out of the five of us were dealing with a stomach bug which made life miserable. I was only going to the bare essential classes and then coming home and huddling in either the living room or bed. As far as we know, Maren was the one to blame, since her whole family came down with similar symptoms the same day. She probably passed it on to us. So that was the main reason. I was spending the rest of the week trying to get my head straight, appetite back on track, and homework done. This last weekend was really chill too, so nothing much happened.
I will talk a little bit about what happened last week, though- but it's just going to be the bare bones. I dropped one of my classes to take the online version after the teacher caused me to get anxious enough to throw up during her class. I'm alright now, and it is nice to not have to deal with that teacher anymore. I also had my first herpetology lab, where I exposed how much of a nerd I was by quickly identifying a good chunk of the animals there with a few well placed guesses. It made me feel smart. My first chem lab was also an adventure, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the spectrum from how he acted. I also found out that my TA for that class is the guy who I tried to join the insulin research of. So that was cool. I had my institute classes as well, and I really like the teacher I have. Not as much as Brother Jacobs (who I saw the other day and we talked for a bit which was awesome), but he's pretty funny and chill. I'm really liking what we've been learning in his class as well. It's the Saint History class, which is awesome, and is taught more like a history lesson than a doctrine class which is interesting in a good way. He also cracks a lot of jokes.
I don't think anything else super duper exciting happened last week as far as I can remember, so now I'm going to talk about this week. So far, it's been very boring. I've gone to classes, come home and work on stuff, and write for a little while, then go to bed. Nothing out of the normal here. I had my labs again today, and I think I'll have a lot of fun in both of them, even if one is chemistry. I even got to hold a tiger salamander today! It was pretty sticky and a very interesting color. I also excelled in the identification lab today, because it's not hard to use a reptile key to figure out what everything is. I impressed a lot of people in lab again, which hopefully won't inflate my ego too much. Today's Maren's birthday so we're celebrating as a room when Allison gets home, which will be in around five or so minutes.
I just wanted to give you guys a quick update, so here it is. I'm going to try and post again this week, but knowing me, I won't post again until next week. I might try to do one post a week instead of doing something every day because I'm clearly not keeping up with it that way. It will also mean I'll have more to say even if I've had a boring week. I'll have to think on it.
Bye!!!
