Hey everyone! I just woke up from an entire nine hours of sleep, so I’m feeling like it’s time for blog writing. I mean, technically, it’s been an hour since I woke up, but I do want to be able to do this week justice even if it was a little mean when it came to sleep deprivation.
Monday was pretty boring all things considered. I went to my
class and was mostly bored there and then I went to the help session for the R
assignment. I had a question on the last two problems, but Kezia wanted us to
work through them in order so I had to stay for almost the full time with
nothing to do until the very end which was very frustrating, but I learned a
few new things so it wasn’t all bad. After that, I came home and took a nap
because I was really tired (this will become a theme for the week). When I woke
up, I went to work on my WILD 6500 math homework and ended up needing to call
Mas because I was too dumb to remember how the quadratic formula worked (I am
so sorry Ms. Greg, I have failed you), before heading up to meet with Sara on
campus to talk over what the plan is. Nothing much came from the meeting, but I
was given a direction to research to figure things out, which is nice. Then we
had lab meeting, with Lexi leading to talk about the coyote research everyone
is helping them with. I lead things next week, so hopefully I do well—I’ll be
talking about my research and SCFAs so it shouldn’t be too bad. When I got home
I was ‘convinced’ to go to FHE with my roommates. Big. Mistake. There was a
weird guy there who tried to socialize with me and was in my personal space
which sucked, so I left early while on a call with my mom just in case. That
done, I settled into relax for the night and ended up watching the newest
manhunt video with Annie, which was great. Dream won. XD.
Tuesday was probably the roughest day of the week, I think.
I had a panic attack at 3 am in the morning for no apparent reason. Like I
literally woke up having one and was left pretty discombobulated for the rest
of the day, and extremely anxious too. I was nauseous and stuff by the time I
got to institute and was even left gagging in the bathroom for a little bit. Couldn’t
focus very well on Institute though, so that kind of sucked. Once I was done, I
worked on my presentation for Thursday and organized myself for the week. This
helped my anxiety go down a little, but it was back with a vengeance when my
neuro class came since we had a guest speaker for the Pain unit. Her teaching
style was different and it made my note taking go into overdrive and I was
worried I’d forget to write something important. You know, usual class anxiety
that I don’t have with Sara because her slides are nice. I got through it
though, and even did my presentation very well, at least I think. When I got
home, it was a mad house so I kind of just gave up and made myself more noodles
to have the leftover spaghetti sauce with since it wasn’t worth dealing with
all the social stuff going on around me. I retreated to my room pretty soon
after and stayed down there until Kenzie came down and interrupted prayer to
tell me that no one could get in contact with Allie. I told her it was fine and
that she was with Bracken but no one listened to me until I used my mad skills
(read: checked my un-updated tools app) to find Bracken’s phone number so they
could text him. Apparently her phone had died and she wouldn’t be back for
another hour. People then cajoled me into making a cake, which I did right as
Allie got back and could deal with everyone else. Sadly, that wasn’t the end to
my night as it was another bad night in a row where I didn’t feel safe/calm
enough to sleep at all, but once I talked stuff out with Mom and the Hammer
kicked in, I hardcore passed out which was nice.
Wednesday had me waking up groggy, which was significantly
better than Tuesday’s start. There was
no Q&A session this week since there wasn’t a reading assignment, so the
first thing I did was put the laundry in and go shopping. I tried to focus, but
I was kind of failing, so I ended up using Wednesday as a chill day for me. I
watched the playthrough for Deltarune Chapter 2, which is AWESOME. I would
never be able to play it, but it is so well done, holy crap. Especially with the
Snowgrave ending. So much angst and even more clues as to what is going on with
Kris. Spamton was amazing and I love his battle music!!!!! And they
incorporated the Charlie Brown dance too! I could talk about it for a while,
but it did just come out last week so I don’t want to spoil too much if there
are people who are going to play it that read this (don’t know who you would
be, but just in case). Just know that the music is awesome and I’m totally
listening to it right now as I write this post. I then met up with Meagan for
our monthly dinner date. This time we went to Juniper take out, which was
really cool, but their food needed salt badly. It was nice to escape an hang
out with her again, so I very much appreciated it. When we got back, I was
still pretty hyped about Deltarune, so I played Undertale (yes, they are
anagrams of each other, and I’m sure Toby Fox did that on purpose), and I got
super far! I beat Mettaton and got all the way to Asgore—even doing on trial
run against him, before calling it a night and going to bed. The videogame was
a great distraction from my stupid sleeping fear that I’ve apparently developed,
so it was really nice.
On Thursday, Allie came with me to institute to help me with
the whole boy issue there, but of course that was the day he wasn’t there so it
was kind of awkward. Because she was with me though, I actually went home
during the break between classes and went back to playing Undertale. I got through
Asgore (first try of that day) and the Omega Flowey battle (I only died twice!
That’s a miracle, though I think they changed the difficulty because it was a
lot easier than I remembered it being) which had me feeling a little more confidant.
I then went to neuro class, where we talked about the visual sensory system. It
went fine, and I actually think I understood most of everything, though I did
fumble a little during my presentation by mixing up Meyer’s loop with another
word that started with M. But it was fine. I had forgotten my headphones at
home though so I didn’t have any music to listen to on the walk home, and so I
think that affected my ability to calm down and focus by the time I got back,
but I tried working on various projects before giving up and calling it a
night. Sadly, it was another rough night and it didn’t work out as well as
Tuesday night did.
Friday saw me waking up throughout the night before at 4:35,
I gave up on sleep. I couldn’t go back to sleep and I had class soon anyways, so
I figured I’d be productive. This lead to me working on TA stuff, before
realizing that SADIST HAD AN ANIMATION COMING OUT THAT DAY AT 11:00 AM, heck
yeah! Anyways, that got me hyped up, so it was a little hard to focus in class
along with the dismal amount of sleep I’d gotten, but I got through it. Allie
said she’d watch the animation with me, and I had enough time to get a half
hour nap before it dropped. It was SO good, oh my gosh. YEEEEEEEEEEEE. Anyways,
after rewatching that a dozen times and putting on one of Wilbur’s old Phasmaphobia
videos, I was able to sit down and focus on researching how I was going to
investigate the serotonin part of my research. It took an hour before I figured
it would probably be best to work with Tph-1, but I’m still in the works with
how that’s going to work and I have some more research to do, but that means I
should be able to start slicing brains again soon, which will be nice. Though,
chances are, that won’t happen until after Sara goes on leave, which will suck,
but Lexi will still be around if needed. After that, I went upstairs to work on
my final project, and got two sections in, before my focus went kapoot and
latched onto Undertale again. And then Allie and Annie wanted to watch Merlin,
which was awesome. We got through the part where Will died (the first of many
of his close friends/family dying jeez louis but I love this show). Allie said
we had to stop there though, so we called it a night.
After that, I practically passed out, and slept for nine
hours, which was a much needed reprieve from the rest of week. And now here I
am, working on my blog in the kitchen with Annie, because she needed a study buddy
to help her focus (spoiler-alert: I don’t think it’s working). I haven’t eaten
yet, but I promise I’ll try after this is published, but I’m pretty sure it
will not be a food day sadly. Oh well, I’ll do my best. Anyway, I think that’s
it for the week. Until next time, bye!
