Hello. I’ve had a bit of a rough patch this week, so fair warning, if I sound like I haven’t been having a good time, I’ve just been grumpy so it probably wasn’t even that bad.
Monday was mostly fine, though it was rough the later it
went on. Class was alright—we talked more about ANOVA and I ended up getting
most of the homework done because of it and due to the R session afterwards. That
was a relief to have done since I had therapy later that day. It was pretty
brutal since I had to recount the rough weekend where I had my panic attack.
Apparently my OCD tendencies are making my anxiety worse, so he had the office
send me more stuff for that to work on. I ended up not going to the lab meeting
since I really couldn’t handle it after how bad it went—just thinking about needing
to go to a room with a lot of people made me want to cry. I was feeling better
later though, so I went over to Maren’s while the landlord was doing inspections
since I also didn’t want to be around them either. I actually signed up for my
next semester’s classes while I was over there. We ended up playing a few games
for a while after that (Phasmaphobia, Sky, and Metroid). Dallin also called to
tell me he was in the hospital, which wasn’t a surprise given everything I’d
learned from the date the previous weekend.
Tuesday was pretty alright, I think. I ended up not writing
any notes that day, so I don’t really remember what happened. I do know that I
went to the institute building two hours early for some peace and quiet. The
apartment is getting overwhelming again so I’m doing my best to take as many
breaks as possible. Dallin was there and I got more info about his hospital
visit. After that, I ended up going shopping, though by the time I got home I
realized I’d forgotten stuff, which was irritating and made me just feel, ugh.
So yeah, not a great day, but I never really did anything to fix stuff.
Wednesday was probably a large highlight of the week. There
was no Q&A session this time, which was nice, so I spent the entire morning
chugging through homework. It was around 1 pm when I got done, and I got
invited to meet up with Anna since she was in town. I had lunch with Anna, Maren,
Sam, Karin, and Tim (sort of, technically the last two were late and didn’t get
lunch). Bunny was with Anna, so I got a lot of time to pet the dogs. I almost
cried because Bunny is a dog that likes leaning on people, and she loved pets.
Both she and Digby (Karin and Tim brought him) are so soft and I miss dogs so
much, holy cow. After that, I had to finish up my chores and doing all the
adult things that needed to be done that day. My plans with Kayla later that
night got cancelled, so I ended up just vibing until that evening. The day
ended with a very fun Neuroscience vs Psychology debate with Kayla, Kenzie,
Karcin, and I.
Thursday started out lovely (sarcasm). I had a wonderful
surprise from my reproductive system when I woke up before heading to campus. As
it turned out, what I thought I could handle was very skewed, and I ended up
going home before institute even started. Allie took me out for a shake though,
which was very nice of her. I had a meeting with Lexi that day too, and I now
have the go ahead to start on everything next week, which will be so much fun.
After that, I just hung out in bed for a while to feel a little better. That night
I went dress shopping with Kayla for her fancy date on Friday, which was a lot
of fun, and she looked really good in all the dresses she tried on, but she
ended up choosing one that her mom found at Dillard’s. Maren also started
writing again on our story things that night which was so happy for me honestly.
I got to write with her the entire evening and it left me feeling much better
after the crappy start to the day.
Friday was a little more brutal. I didn’t get much sleep, so
going to class was hard. What was even harder was the hour after class spent
doing three homework problems on R so I could turn it in on time. After that I
had lunch at the Hub with my roommates. It was really hard to eat that day since
I just didn’t want food, but I ended up eating something from the bakery since
that seemed simpler. After it was all said and done, though, I crashed hard and
kind of passed out for an hour or two. Once I woke up, I did my walk and wrote
with Maren for a really long time. I also came upstairs to help gear Kayla up
for her date, and enjoyed a lovely peanut butter, Nutella, and banana sandwich.
Saturday was really bad anxiety-wise. My anxiety was so high
that I didn’t get much done. MCC was great though! The Muffinteers won by a
landslide and it was really cool, even though they started to fall apart
half-way through. I found some really good fanfiction to read that helped to
keep my mood up. Sadly, I had to eat, so I ordered pizza so I didn’t pass out
from not eating that day. It was pretty good, and the night was actually not
terrible. Allie took me to swig and checked in on me because she is a wonderful
friend, and I watched some funny videos before going to bed.
And now it is Sunday. Stake Conference just ended an hour
ago. There was some great talks, but I think the first one took the cake. He
shared a story about a deaf and dumb chicken and how it was used to explain why
we have witnesses for things to have faith in. Basically, when he was teaching
seminary once, he had the chicken stuffed in a corner and had the class choose
three people to confirm what was in the corner. They all went over and tried to
tell the class there was an alive chicken behind the piano in the corner and
they weren’t really believed until the third said it was there. Then he asked
them if they had the faith to build a chicken coop given the three witnesses
and some people raised their hands while others seemed more iffy. He didn’t let
them see the chicken at all if they weren’t the witnesses even as they left. It was really good and I really, really liked how
he taught that lesson. It was pretty great.
So yeah, that has been my week. I hope you all liked hearing
about it. Until next time, bye!
